(NLNAC). This organization provides specialized accreditation for all types of nursing education programs. If
the course is not accredited, it is likely it will not be recognized by any other schools if you decide to
upgrade your skills in the future.
Check with your State for requirements of certification,
some States have different rules on the requirements in regards to training time, testing and your desired
working environment when you complete your course. Contact your State Nurse Aide Registry or State Licensing
Board to obtain information about your States requirements.
Depending on your geographical location, some campuses
may have medical partnerships; this means that they partner with medical facilities in order to place their
students on internships for the hands on learning aspect of the course. Be sure to contact the campus
directly and ask before you enroll, if not you may be left without any practical hands on training. 16-20
hours is usually requirement by the State in order to gain enough experience for employment as a Certified
Nursing Assistant.
The cost of Certified Nursing Assistant online courses
is between $200-$375 on average. The training time to complete the course is between 75-100 hours, plus
additional time for the internship.
